The mission of the Oral Health Services for Older Adults Program (OHSOA) is to:

  • Provide training for dental and non-dental health professionals at all levels to promote better geriatric care
  • Contribute new knowledge about geriatric oral health
  • Improve community access to high quality dental care for older adults.

Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program

The University of Minnesota received a five-year, $3.74 million award of federal funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP). The Minnesota Northstar GWEP is led by an interprofessional team, including the School of Dentistry and Oral Health Services for Older Adults Program.
